Mike is helping to build a strong future for Elkton out of its rich historical past. The goal is to turn Elk Landing into a living history center that will attract tourist. He serves as the president of the Foundation. He is someone who looks ahead as well as back and he has a vision for Elk Landing and the town that takes advantage of its rich history.
Cecil Whig Editorial (daily newspaper)

When you combine a vast historical knowledge along with excellent writing skills you come up with award winning material. The gentleman we are honoring this evening brings to the endeavor a strong wit, a great passion, and documented knowledge of who and what we have been about for hundreds of years.
Cecil County Chamber of Commerce
Your presentation was well researched and well presented. I enjoyed listening to what you had to say on researching historic homes, and have heard similar comments from patrons who attended. I was especially impressed by the give and take interaction you developed with the audience. I would not hesitate to recommend your presentations to others.

A word of thanks is here expressed to Michael Dixon, a junior at the Elkton High School who joined the Society’s working staff during his summer vacation. He was very helpful . . . . Michael is the first high school student who has ever evinced sufficient interest in Cecil County history to offer his services to the Society.

It was truly a lovely evening last night. I’m quite sure that I speak for all of us when I say that your discussion was very informative and fascinating, and that you made us feel comfortable as well as engaged in the conversation. Not an easy task! Given the fact that you lecture on more than one topic, I have high hopes of us inviting you back again.

Dixon led some 16 attendees on a guided tour of the resources available to those who wish to research the history of their house. The presentation was not so much a lecture as a freewheeling exchange in which audience members contributed ideas and stories.

Those of us who have been involved with the Foundation's accomplishments can proudly look back on the phenomenal progress made under Mike's leadership. From the start, there was no question as to who should lead the effort; one who had an uncanny grasp and knowledge of things historic, coupled with intellect, good business sense and dedication to the community. We appreciate his dedication and contributions during the formative years of what will most certainly become known as a shinning example of historic preservation.

Many thanks for the fascinating presentation you made to the Delaware Press Association when illuminating the topic of “When Radio, Television & Mass Communication Came of Age.” The old audio and video clips were just great in helping to recreate a sense of where we came from. You were positively inspirational. I’ve had a number of notes and several conversations with people who were there, and the program is still getting rave reviews.

First I want to say thank you for a great talk. I've been working on the river for 47 years and this is the best description of the C&D Canal I've ever heard.

Thank you for your fantastic presentation on the Mason Dixon Line. You sure have a touch for concisely sharing important information in a lively way. And your graphics and PowerPoint skills are wonderful. We hope to see more of your programs.
Thank you so much for bringing your "Duck and Cover" program to the library. I know everyone in the audience enjoyed it. And the music was a great addition to the PowerPoint presentation. It is obvious that you enjoy your subject. Thanks Again

I thoroughly enjoy Professor Dixon's enthusiastic method of teaching. He makes the subject matter interesting. The resources that Professor Dixon uses are outstanding. The visual documentaries are highly informative and enlightening. I feel that his unique manner of presenting some of the U.S.'s tumultuous historical events is commendable as some of the events were highly sensitive especially concerning racial tensions in America and the Vietnam war. Additionally, he takes extra measures to ensure that the material is well understood and provokes class participation. Student
